This is a contract for the cat/kitten described below.

The seller and purchaser agree to the following conditions:
This cat is purchased
a. as a pet
b. for show
1) Seller guarantees that the above kitten or cat is free of Feline Leukemia Virus (FelV) and Feline AIDS (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus or FIV) at time of purchase.
2) Seller will have all age appropriate vaccinations completed on the kitten at time of pick up and will provide Purchaser with a health record and vaccination schedule.
3) Cat or kitten has a 2-year replacement guarantee against lethal genetic or congenital defects. If kitten or cat described above should die within 2 years of purchase date due to hereditary or congenital defects, Seller will, as soon as possible, replace the kitten with another of equal quality and value upon being provided with an autopsy report from a licensed veterinarian other than the veterinarian who was treating the cat at the time of death. A veterinarian's speculation on cause of death is no substitute for a complete, independent autopsy.
4) If Seller replaces the kitten or cat for any of the reasons described above, Seller is not obligated to replace the exact color or pattern, although all attempts to do so will be made. Seller is not obligated to replace cat for any reasons other than stated above in this contract. There will be no cash refunds.
5) Purchaser agrees to take the kitten or cat to a veterinarian within 72 hours of pick up in order to insure the health of the kitten at time of possession.
6) If this cat is found to be neglected or abused, Purchaser shall return cat to Seller unconditionally at Purchaser's expense. Purchaser will be responsible for any and all medical testing required to bring said cat back to Seller.
7) Under no circumstances shall this cat be sold, leased, or given to any pet store, research lab, or similar facility.
8) Seller is not responsible for any damage or injury caused by this cat.
9) Seller is not responsible for any Vet bills or treatment.
10) Due to the controversy surrounding the FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) vaccine and its potential harmful effects on Ragdolls, Purchaser agrees NOT to vaccinate for FIP; an FIP vaccine will void the health guarantee.
11) Cats can be very sensitive to vaccines; only killed vaccines should be used. Using live or modified live vaccines will void the health guarantee.
12) Seller recommends this kitten or cat be kept indoors and not be allowed to roam outside. Allowing it to roam will void the health guarantee. If you want your cat to go outside, it can be trained to a harness and leash.
13) Seller strongly opposes declawing and Purchaser needs to be aware that declawing may cause personality and temperament changes that Seller will not be responsible for.
Recommendations:
* Seller recommends providing scratching posts and a cat tree for the kitten or cat. Front claws should be trimmed on a regular basis. Ragdolls are very docile so Purchaser may want to do this trimming him/herself using nail clippers, starting when the animal is young so the kitten gets used to it.
* Purchaser is requested to isolate new kitten or cat from other cats for a minimum of one week. Due to the stress of moving, new kitten or cat may come down with a minor cold or eye infection; this is normal.
* The above kitten is used to "World's Best Cat Litter", a natural clumping litter (while this litter is expensive, it also lasts a very long time!) and "Fresh Step" a NON-CLUMPING CLAY litter. The same type of litter or similar litter should be used until kitten is at least 6 months old. Do not use clumping clay based litter until kitten is older; it will continue to clump inside a kitten if ingested and may cause death.
* Seller does NOT recommend vaccinating against FelV (Feline Leukemia) because of potential adverse reactions including death.
* Kitten should be fed a quality dry kitten food until one year of age. The above kitten or cat is being fed___________________________________________ _______________________________________________________ Any changes in diet should be made gradually as sudden changes may result in episodes of diarrhea. It is recommended that kitten or cat have access to dry food and fresh water at all times.
